Ever wonder about the stunning lighting effects created on stage during a production or how to know which light works to create a mood or best light an actor? Stage magic happens in large part by the creative minds and hard work of designers and technicians behind the scenes. Join Arts Center Technical Theatre Director Richard Kiraly for an introduction to stage lighting covering the various aspects of lighting a theatrical production. Ages 16 and up except by special permission.
The Lighting Design Class coincides with Odd Couple, so that students can get hands-on lighting experience as part of the practical application of their learned skills. That class is tentatively going to be taking place the week prior to and the week of Tech Week, with work days scheduled in the mainstage on January 25th and February 1st. Classroom work will be January 21, 24, 28 and Jan 31. This class will include basic light board programming, as well as lighting maintenance, repair and focus/design.
Because the work we are doing directly corresponds to the needs of a show (The Odd Couple), It is necessary to adjust our Classroom and Workshop schedules accordingly. Here are the adjustments:

Tue, January 28, 2020, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM - LIGHTING CLASSROOM (Please note that Auditions for The King And I start at 6pm)
Fri, January 31, 2020, 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM - CLASSROOM AND WORKSHOP (Please note that students are only REQUIRED to be in class until 7pm - Workshop is optional from 7pm to 10pm)
Sat, February 01, 2020, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - LIGHTING WORKSHOP (Please note that Paper Tech for Odd Couple is from 1pm-2pm, and the Tech Run is from 2pm -5pm, students are invited but not required to attend the Tech Run, but are NOT needed for the Paper Tech)
