Get Involved at the Arts Center of Kershaw County! 

Because the arts matter…and you matter to the arts! 

There are many different ways to get involved at the Arts Center - our live performance theatre features a full season of musicals, plays, concerts and events!

We have an exciting Art Gallery that changes often - featuring local and regional artists - and multiple mediums!

Here are our Affiliate Groups - and ways to get involved!

Kershaw County Theatre Guild (KCTG) 


Kershaw County Theatre Guild produces plays and musicals each year featuring talent from the local community. For more information about community theatre productions visit the Kershaw County Theatre Guild on Facebook where you can hear about auditions, opportunities for crew or design, or find other ways to exercise your theatre talents! The Camden Poets Society (CPS) 


The Poets Society meets in the Douglas Reed House on the Arts Center campus the first Tuesday of each month from 7-9PM. The CPS holds poetry readings and shares selected works in their monthly “Literary Letters” publication. The group celebrates National Poetry Month in April with Open Mic nights inviting poets and songwriters. Contact Kay Roberson a803-438-9356 or  alfredroberson@bellsouth.net. 

The Quilters of Kershaw County (QKC)  


QKC meets in the Douglas Reed House on the Arts Center campus the second Monday of each month from 9 AM to 12 noon. They do not meet during the summer or December. Members from across the Midlands meet to discuss patterns, participate in workshops, and work on projects for charities. Contact Donna Goss. The Camden Community Concert Band (CCCB) 


There are four free concerts each year that are held at either Rectory Square Park, or Camden High School band room. If you play an instrument and would like to join, call the CCCB president Boyd Black at 432-0553The CCCB is an open Community Concert Band, with no audition necessary. Visit them on Facebook!

Visual Art Society 


This group of local artists meet the first Monday of each month and present two exhibits in the Arts Center’s Bassett Gallery. Contact VAS president Walker Canada at wcanada@truvista.net for more information.  

The Kershaw County Music Association (KCMA) 


The Kershaw County Music Association (KCMA) was formed to encourage, support, and promote young artists, and foster the knowledge and appreciation of music in Kershaw County. KCMA meets the first Thursday of each month and produces annual concerts and competitions. Other Ways To Get Involved at the Arts Center of Kershaw County!

Because the arts matter…and you matter to the arts!

  • Volunteer at a show as an Usher or in our Box Office and get to see the show for free!
  • Work the Concession Table or Merchandise Tables, and see the show for free!
  • Volunteer in the Box Office during office hours!
