Using pinch methods, coiling, slab rolling and various methods for decorating, you will create functional and decorative pottery. Introduction to the wheel is available.     This is an opportunity for experienced potters to hand build, wheel throw and glaze independently in our clay studio. A shelf space and cone 5-6 studio glazes are included. Oxidation firings are done approximately every 4-6 weeks. Participants must have their own tools, and clay must be purchased from the AC. Adults and Teens 16+; Maximum: 3

    Prerequisites:

    Completion of two or more recent clay classes at the AC and/or interview for admission

    Signed Open Studio Agreement

If you're a singer, please pick two to five villain-centered songs... (Just to be on the safe side. I know there will be some some of the same songs brought in by multiple people... ) Get creative...     Join Acting Coach Kim Scott for a comprehensive class in acting for the stage. Whether you are new to the art or a practiced hand at treading the boards, this class will help you improve the skills needed to bring a character to life. You will learn ways to use your voice, body and mind to create as realistic or fantastical a persona as is needed. Learn cold reading and other preparation skills that will give you the confidence to go for it at the auditions and for a showcase! Ages 10-17

    Cheryl Black is a retired music teacher who has been giving private piano lessons for over 20 years.

    Jami Steele-Sprankle has directed and performed with improv troupes in Los Angeles, CA, South Florida and Columbia, SC.  She learned from teachers schooled by Second City, Comedysportz, and The Groundlings.  

    Join Jami to learn the techniques, and exercise the muscles that lead to great theatre and indeed give you the ability to think on your feet in any situation. Learn how to really listen and create with your fellow actors. Develop characters that will become a part of your theatrical repertoire to be used again and again. We will start with the basics and work towards regular performances once the group has learned enough to work well together as a troupe.

    Students who perform with troupe and return for subsequent sessions will be given a code for discounts on future sessions. Contact the instructor jsteele@fineartscenter.org.

    Jaston Hawes graduated from the USC/Columbia earning a Performance Certificate in Voice as well as his B.A. in Music Education (K-12). Learn the play between water and pigment and paper that will help you create wonderful works of art.  Johna's work can be seen at the  Revolutionary War Visitors Center and the Artists' Attic in downtown Camden.

    This class, under the direction of the Art Center's Technical Theatre Director Richard Kiraly, teaches preparation and skills needed to act as Stage Manager for a show. Stage Managers are the right-hand of Directors, and are responsible for administrative duties during the rehearsal process and are in charge of a show when it is open to the public! Ages 16 and up.

    The class will coincide with the November mainstage show and may require students to be available for rehearsal and show schedules of that show. There will be both in-class time as well as hands on learning.

    All dates and times will be determined once a show production schedule is determined.
